A Great week

It has been a great week!!!
(w/one exception)
Actually it started on Wednesday July 25, 2012.
Ambers' 25th birthday, "Happy Birthday Baby".
Then on the same day, Casey gets hired on at
 Childrens' Dental Center of Irving.
 Congratulations Sweetie,
I'm Happy for you and so very proud of you.
Thursday, my boyfriend
Phillip, has a job interview. Yay!!!
(He has a part time job, here close to home, but he needs something else)
We are not familiar with the Dallas area, so we rely on Google maps & our trusty GPS.
All I can say is "OMG"!!!  (This is where the one exception comes in) First of all, we went through construction, that was so bad they didn't even have the numbered exit signs up. We missed our exit 3 times UGH!!!  The GPS was as confused as we were.  We went around in circles forever, it seemed. Then traffic is stopped and when it moved it was only an inch or two. I don't do well with traffic, (if you've read "Who I am" you know this to be true)  so by this time, I am fit to be tied. On top of that the A/C in the car hasn't been working right. And the temp around here has been in the triple digits. We finally get to his interview. We park in the shade, so I don't have to bake in the sun, while he has his interview. Thirty min. later.
"He got the job"  WhoooHooo!!! Way to go baby!
THEN, we dare the GPS to get us home.  HA HA HA!!! This time it takes us a different direction, then the way we came in. We are on 635 E. and it says to take 75, I don't know much about driving in dallas, but I do know that I can get home on 635, but we trust the GPS to take 75 ~~WELL~~
we take the exit,  Low and behold traffic is backed up for miles. There's an accident. Good Grief, I'm ready to throw the GPS out the window. We finally get out of traffic and make it home. Not soon enough for me. I ranted and raved the whole way. Poor Phillip he was so happy & excited about his new job and all I did was bitch about traffic, the heat, the stupid GPS, & the construction. I'm sorry, but those things REALLY get me RILED!!! (Not a good thing and Im not proud of it) Those couple of hours seemed like a whole day to me. I came home and let it out in tears. Thats one experience, I dont EVER want to go through again,  I apologized to Phillip, a couple of times.  He's such a sweetheart. When I was bitching, he never said a word.  He just let me vent. Either that, or he was afraid to say anything.  LOL.   I love you baby.
To sum it all up, the week was great with a just a few short hours of chaos.
"Congratulation to Amber, Casey & Phillip"

Pizza Night Gift Basket

Happy Friday Everyone,

I have a Gift basket to share. My daughter Amber, just turned 25, and I was trying to figure out what to give her. So I came up with this:
A willow basket, added some red & white shredded paper as filler. A bottle of zinfandel, 2pkts pizza crust mix,  a jar of pizza sauce, pkg pepperoni, jar of italian seasoning, small jar of parmesan cheese, bag of italian cheeses or mozzarella. pkt of microwave popcorn and 2 nutty bars. Oh and a pizza pan and pizza cutter. Added a kitchen towel. Made a couple of Ribbon roses for decoration. Tied a ribbon around the neck of the wine bottle. Wha La! I had intentions of putting the whole basket into a cello gift bag and tying it with a red bow, but the basket didnt fit into the bag that I purchased. But over all, I think it turned out real cute. And Amber loved it. Said she was having pizza night with her boyfriend Nate, this weekend.  I hope they enjoy making and eatting it, as much as I enjoyed creating it.  Love you sweet girl.

Super Sunday

Hi Y'all,

Well the end of the weekend is upon us.  I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and stayed cool.  We had plans to attend an Outdoor Music Festival that started at 5pm Saturday, we were going with some friends from Commerce, so we left a little early and headed to their house before the concert. The temp was 107 w/Heat Index of 111. We drove from Dallas to Commerce approx. 65 miles w/o A/C in my car.  When we got onto the freeway, traffic was crawling for 4 miles, we never got over 5 mph. We were about to stroke out, I was becoming nauseous and our clothes were drenched. Not a pretty sight. We finally made it to their house and were so grateful to be in the A/C.  We didnt want to go back out, we decided we'd go to the concert after the sun went down. Needless to say at 9pm the temp was 101 w/heat index of 107. Unfortunately, we didn't go. We went to Braum's for Ice cream, then back to friends house to play "Name That Tune". We had alot of fun. We were having so much fun, we didnt notice the time till it was 2am. and had an hour drive ahead of us. So Anita & Mike (our friends) invited us to stay with them. We slept like babies. Got up this morning had coffee and sausage/cheese mcmuffins. Spent the day with them. We left at 4pm. Went to Taco Bell and returned home. Had a Great weekend, even though we didnt get to the concert. We still had fun.
Tell me about your weekend.

Today is a great day. I've been looking to find some way of making some extra income. Well God has answered my prayers. Its a part time job, Doing Demos (promoting liquid vitamins) at the local walmart. The pay is Good, plus I get bonuses for each sale of the product and the job is super easy. I used to do demos years ago, and I loved it.  I start tomorrow morning. Whoohoo!!!  So a big thumbs up for me.

DIY Wreaths

I made these for the 4th of July, but I wanted to put them up for y'all to see. They could be made for any holiday.
  Wreath #1
 "All its Glory"
Very Simple to make
Decorations from the dollar tree or where ever you choose.
1 swimmers noodle and packing tape. I cut about 4-5 inches off of noodle. But its not necessary, it just takes more tulle.
3 rolls of Tulle (25 ft. ea.) cut into approx 16 inch strips, fold in half, wrap around noodle. With free ends pull through loop (folded end) continue around till finished. May need to add a few extra pieces as to fill in, around the wreath. To give a fuller look. Save one strip to hang wreath. Trim tulle, to give an even look. Add decorations with hot glue.  TahDah!!!  EezyPeezy!!

Wreath #2
  "Simple Expression"
Oh So Very Simple
Decorations same as above
12" styrofoam wreath (walmart) $3.97
1 skein of varrigated yarn, I only used 1/2 of the skein (walmart) $2.50
Begin by wrapping yarn around wreath once or twice, then take the loose end and pull it toward the direction you are working and wrap yarn over it, to hold in place. Continue wrapping around wreath 8-10 times, push yarn up and twist to tighten. Continue, till finished. Hot glue end piece in between strands. Decorate.  This one took me all of 30 minutes to make.
Have fun with DIY crafts. Let me know what you think. Or if you have any questions about making either of the wreaths, feel free to ask or you can email, or tweet.

It's whats for Supper

Tonight I'm trying out a new Chicken recipe. We'll see how the family likes it. If it turns out to be a hit, I will post it here. Wish me luck.
Hope everyone has a great day. And I'll be back tonight with the Results and my Recipe.
Happy Blogging :)

Hello again, I hope everyone has had a Super fantastic day. My day has went pretty well. During the week I take care of a precious little girl named Olivia (20 mo's old). She's the apple of everyones eye around here.

She's Meemee's Angel                                                        <<---Saying Cheezzz

Once her momma came to pick her up, I started on supper. It was a HUGE success.  The family loved it.  So here's the recipe:
Caramelized Honey Dijon Chicken w/Bacon & Mushrooms
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/2 cup honey

1 heaping tbsp mayo
4-1/2 teaspoons canola oil, divided
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash paprika
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
8 bacon strips, cut and cooked
2 TBL sliced green onions
In a small bowl, whisk together the mustard, mayo,  honey, 1-1/2 teaspoons oil and lemon juice. Add chicken breast to a gallon ziploc bag. Pound with a meat mallet (flat side) to even thinkness all around.(if you dont have a mallet, use a can from the pantry) Pour  must/mayo/honey/lemon mixture over chicken. Seal the bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 2 hours.
Drain and discard marinade from chicken. In a large skillet over medium heat, caramelize chicken in remaining oil approx 5 min. per side. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, saute mushrooms with cooked bacon until tender. Remove to set aside. Add chicken breasts to skillet, top with mushrooms and bacon.
Cook over low heat, covered for 15-20 minutes until juices run clear.

Remove from heat, Top with cheese & chopped green onions. Return lid to pan, till cheese is melted. Approx. 2-3 min. That also gives the chicken a chance to sit & allow the juices to redistribute.  Enjoy!  We did. :)
Sorry my picture turned out so dark, I have to work on that. But believe me, your family will love this recipe.
